Carpet Installation in Baytown

We install carpet and pad that lie flat, seam quietly and feel right underfoot for years. If water got to your old carpet, we also document what we find and explain how a claim usually unfolds. We stay clear and practical, without promises about what your insurer will pay.

Soft Floors, Installed With Care

Carpet is still the warmest, quietest choice for bedrooms, family rooms and upstairs spaces. How it performs depends less on the label than on what happens during installation: the right pad, a proper stretch and seams set where light and foot traffic won't find them.

Many of our carpet calls start after a leak, an appliance failure or storm water. In those cases we photograph the carpet, pad and slab before anything is pulled, take moisture readings and write up a line-item estimate you can hand to your adjuster. We don't act as the adjuster, and we won't tell you what a policy covers. We'll show you what is there and explain the usual steps.

Our company brings 25+ years in business to every carpet job. We're also insured, which matters when a crew is inside your home lifting furniture and pulling up old floors.

What Your Carpet Installation Includes

Measuring and seam planning

We measure each room and draw out where every seam will fall before ordering. Seams run with the light from windows and away from doorways where possible, so they stay out of sight.

Pad matched to the carpet

The cushion underneath decides much of how a carpet ages. A deep cut pile and a tight Berber loop each need their own kind of support, so we pick a cushion by its firmness and depth for the carpet you chose instead of reaching for the thickest roll.

Tack strip and slab prep

Old tack strip is checked and replaced where it is loose, rusted or water-stained. We scrape the slab, fill low spots and check moisture before new pad goes down.

Power stretching

We stretch carpet with a power stretcher, not just a knee kicker. A proper stretch is what keeps ripples from showing up a year later.

Transitions, cleanup and haul-away

Edges meet tile, vinyl or hardwood with the correct transition strip. Old carpet and pad leave with us, and we vacuum before we go.

Signs Your Carpet Is Due for Replacement

Water reached the pad
Once water soaks through to the pad, drying the surface rarely solves it. Pad holds moisture against the slab, and with Gulf Coast humidity that often means odor and mold within days. Flood or sewage water almost always means the carpet and pad both need to go.
Ripples that come back
If carpet has been restretched and still wrinkles, the backing has likely broken down. New carpet with a proper power stretch is usually the lasting fix.
Matted traffic lanes
Paths from the hallway to the sofa that stay flat after cleaning mean the fibers and pad underneath are worn out.
Lingering odor
A smell that returns after professional cleaning usually lives in the pad or on the slab, not the carpet face.
Seams pulling apart
Visible seam lines or fraying edges at doorways tell you the original install or the carpet itself has reached its limit.

How a Carpet Job Runs

  1. 1

    Visit and documentation

We look at the rooms, measure and take moisture readings. If there is a claim involved, we photograph damage to the carpet, pad, tack strip and baseboards before anything is moved.

  2. 2

    Written estimate

You get a line-item estimate listing carpet, pad, tack strip, prep, furniture moving and haul-away separately. It is clear enough to review on your own or share with an adjuster.

  3. 3

    Tear-out and slab work

When the crew arrives, furniture comes out of each room first, then the old carpet and pad are rolled up and carried out. The slab is scraped and patched. If we uncover cracks or damp spots, we stop and show you before going further.

  4. 4

    Installation

Pad goes down, seams are joined with hot-melt tape, and the carpet is power-stretched onto the tack strip. Most homes are finished in a day, depending on the number of rooms.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough

We walk the rooms with you, put furniture back and clean up. Every installation carries our 1-year workmanship warranty.

What Shapes the Cost of New Carpet

Carpet pricing comes down to the square footage, the carpet and pad you choose, and what we find once the old floor is up. Your written estimate breaks each part out, so you can see where the money goes and adjust before anything is ordered.

Carpet and pad selection
Fiber type, pile and density move the price most. Pad adds a smaller amount but matters a great deal to how the carpet wears.
Room layout and seams
Odd-shaped rooms, closets and wide openings take more material and more seaming than a simple rectangle.
Slab condition
Moisture problems, cracks or leftover adhesive from an older floor need attention before new pad goes in.
Removal and furniture
Pulling old carpet, hauling it off and moving heavy furniture are listed as their own lines.
Stairs
Stairs are measured and priced separately because each tread and riser is cut and fitted by hand. Our Stair Flooring page covers that work in more detail.

Carpet Installation Questions

Can my wet carpet be dried and saved?
Sometimes, if the water was clean and the carpet was dried quickly. Pad usually has to be replaced either way because it holds moisture. Carpet soaked by floodwater or sewage should be removed. We'll check moisture levels and give you a straight answer.
Will you deal with my insurance company for me?
We don't negotiate with insurers or act as your adjuster. What we do is document the damage with photos and measurements and provide a line-item estimate you can share. We can also explain the typical order of steps so you know what to expect.
Do I need to move my furniture before you arrive?
We move standard furniture as part of the job. Please clear small items, breakables and anything inside dressers or shelves. Electronics and items like pianos or gun safes are best discussed when we visit.
How long before we can walk on the new carpet?
Right away. Carpet installed over pad and tack strip needs no curing time. A new-carpet smell may linger a few days, and opening windows or running the air helps.
Is your work covered after installation?
Yes. All of our installations carry a 1-year workmanship warranty. If a seam lifts or the carpet loosens during that year because of an installation fault, give us a call and we'll return to put it right.
