Carpet Tile Installation in Baytown
Carpet tile gives a room the softness of carpet with squares you can lift and replace one at a time. We install it in bonus rooms, playrooms and home offices, and when water damage is why you're calling, we help you document it before anything comes up.
A Soft Floor That Forgives Accidents
Carpet tile is broadloom carpet cut into squares or planks, usually 24 inches, with a stiff backing that holds its shape. Each piece sits on a light release adhesive rather than being stretched over tack strip and pad. That is the whole point: a juice spill, a pet accident or a soaked corner means replacing a few tiles, not the room.
It suits spaces that see real life. Game rooms, kids' rooms, home gyms and converted garages are where we install it most. If you want a plush, wall-to-wall feel in a bedroom, our carpet installation page covers broadloom, which is still the softer choice underfoot.
Many of the calls we get start with water. A leaking water heater, an overflowing washer or storm water pushed under a door can ruin a room of carpet. We walk you through what to photograph, what to save and what your adjuster will likely want to see, without telling you what your policy will pay.

What Our Carpet Tile Work Includes
- 01
Moisture testing the slab
Most homes here sit on concrete slabs, and carpet tile adhesive fails when the slab is too damp. We take readings before we order material, and again after any water event.
- 02
Damage documentation
If a claim is involved, we photograph the wet or stained floor, note the affected square footage and keep a sample of the old carpet. You get those photos to share with your insurer.
- 03
Removal and disposal
We pull the old carpet, pad and tack strip, scrape the slab and haul it all away. Furniture moving is discussed up front so the day holds no surprises.
- 04
Layout and installation
We snap a center line so cut tiles at the walls are even, then lay the pattern you chose: monolithic, quarter-turn, brick or ashlar. Tiles are pressed into a tackifier that holds firm yet releases cleanly later.
- 05
Spare tiles left behind
We leave you a box of extras from the same dye lot. Matching later is far easier when the replacement tiles came from the original run.
Questions about Carpet Tile?
Call(346) 594-6597Signs Carpet Tile Is the Right Call
Water got into the carpet
Broadloom that sat wet for more than a day or two often holds odor and mildew in the pad. Replacing it with carpet tile means the next leak is a smaller repair.
Stains that keep coming back
Wicking stains reappear because the spill soaked into the backing and pad. With tiles, the stained square simply comes out.
A room used hard every day
Playrooms, home offices with rolling chairs and gyms wear traffic lanes into broadloom. Carpet tile's dense, low pile holds up better in those paths.
Seams pulling or rippling
Rippled wall-to-wall carpet usually means the stretch has failed or the pad has broken down. It is often a good moment to switch rather than restretch.
You want pattern without the cost of custom carpet
Mixing two colors in a checkerboard or border is simple with tiles and looks deliberate when laid well.
How a Carpet Tile Job Runs
- 1
Phone conversation and visit
You tell us about the room and whether damage or a claim is involved. We visit, measure, test the slab and look at transitions to other floors.
- 2
Written estimate and claim notes
You receive a line-item estimate listing removal, prep, tile and labor separately. If you are filing a claim, the photos and measurements come with it so your adjuster can compare like for like.
- 3
Prep day
We protect hallways, remove the old floor and grind or patch any high spots and cracks in the slab. Tiles are left in the room to acclimate.
- 4
Installation
Most single rooms are laid in a day. We trim around vents and doorways, set transition strips and vacuum the finished floor.
- 5
Walkthrough
We go over the floor with you, show you how a tile lifts out and leave the spares. Every installation carries our 1-year workmanship warranty.
Where the Money Goes on a Carpet Tile Floor
Two things move a carpet tile estimate more than anything else: the tile you choose and the state of the concrete under it. Each line on our estimate stands on its own, so removal, prep, tile and labor are easy to compare. If something changes once the old floor is up, we talk it over with you before any cost is added.
- Tile grade and backing
- Cushion-backed tiles feel softer and cost more than hardback tiles. Pile density and fiber type also move the price.
- What the concrete looks like
- Old glue ridges, hairline cracks and low or high spots get ground flat or filled before any tile goes down. If the concrete reads damp, a moisture-blocking primer may be added first.
- Removal of the old floor
- Pulling stretched carpet and pad is quick. Glued-down carpet or old vinyl takes longer to scrape.
- Room shape and pattern
- Closets, angled walls and quarter-turn or border patterns mean more cuts and some extra material.
Carpet Tile Questions We Hear
Will my insurance pay for new carpet tile after a leak?
Coverage turns on your policy and on what caused the water, and that decision belongs to your insurer. Our part is to document the damage carefully, measure the affected area and give you a clear estimate your adjuster can review. If they have questions about any line, we're glad to explain it.
Does carpet tile look like an office?
It can, but it doesn't have to. Residential lines come in softer textures and warmer colors, and a monolithic layout hides the seams well. We bring samples so you can see them in your own light.
Can carpet tile go in a room that has flooded before?
Yes, as long as the slab is fully dry and tests within the adhesive maker's limits. Because tiles lift out, a future leak means pulling the wet squares, drying the slab and setting new ones.
When can the furniture go back in?
Right away. The tiles are ready for foot traffic and furniture as soon as the last one is pressed in and trimmed. For desk chairs on casters, a chair mat over the first few weeks lets the adhesive finish curing without tiles creeping.
Who is doing the work in my home?
Our crew, and we're insured. We've been in business 25+ years, and we treat your home with drop cloths, careful moving and a clean finish.
Let's Look at the Room Together
Tell us what happened to the old floor and how the room gets used. We'll talk through tile options, the slab and any claim paperwork you're working on.
